We Serve

Who are we?
We are a wide range of caring people who raise funds through voluntary work to help the Hastings, New Zealand and International communities.

We meet regularly for dinner meetings at the Hastings RSA.  We have thought provoking and entertaining club speakers and plenty of opportunity for social interaction too.

There's a lot going on at Hastings Host. Fundraising projects, fun, laughter, hard work, with loyal dedicated people.... who want to make a difference.

Our members get involved in as much of the fundraising and social events as they like, there's no pressure to participate in everything, all of the time.

Outrunning a Lion

Two guys on a photo safari in South Africa far from their vehicle or shelter with no means of protection. All of a sudden they realise that a lioness has crept up behind them unexpectedly and that they are in grave danger of being attacked. One of them immediately bends down, whips off his safari boots and dons his trainers. The other says to him "Are you crazy? That's just a waste of time - you'll never outrun a lion." The other replies "I don't have to outrun the lion, I only have to outrun you...."
